Frequently Asked Questions

  • Integrative Pelvic Wellness is a mobile practice. This means we provide pelvic floor therapy in the comfort of your own home. We are based in Bayside, Queens, New York. We serve clients within a 15-20 miles radius from Bayside, Queens to areas in Nassau County, NYC and Westchester County. Please reach out if you have further questions on specific service location.

  • Integrative Pelvic wellness operates as an out-of-network provider. We want to ensure that we are providing specialized care for your needs and not limited by the restriction of insurance companies. We can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement but payment for your sessions will be due prior to or at time of service via cash, check, or credit/debit card.

  • Not a definitive yes or no-it kind of depends. For pelvic floor therapy, we can have our initial evaluation without an occupational therapy referral or a pelvic floor referral (otherwise known as a prescription). Following our initial evaluation, a prescription will be required to continue care. For preventive care services such as holistic health coaching, a prescription is not needed.

  • An internal exam is always based on your comfort level and the reason you are seeking out pelvic floor therapy. The internal assessment doesn’t have to happen at the first session and can be introduced later on. Typically, for pelvic pain it will not happen on the first visit as our goal is to alleviate pain and make you feel safe.

Internal exams could give valuable information on the strength, tightness and coordination of pelvic floor muscles; however, there are other assessments that could happen first. Options could include external exam or a fully clothed exam; all assessments are done with explicit consent and could be stopped at any time.

  • While the approach is highly individualized and multifactorial, a thorough discussion with the client will follow the completion of their comprehensive evaluation. On average, clients attend 6-8 sessions, but the integration of education and exercises into daily life rests with the client. Our priority is to ensure a seamless incorporation of these exercises and activities into your daily routines.

  • Menstruation is a natural part of life, and if you feel comfortable, internal work can proceed as usual. External work remains unaffected, and rescheduling is entirely based on personal choice
